What you will finish with
One Alibaba API key
Use this developer key for Qwen requests made by Lakeview Lister.
Before you start
Check what you need.
- An account with Alibaba’s developer API service.
- Permission to create API keys and manage API usage for that account or workspace.
- Lakeview Lister installed so you can enter and test the key.
Developer account
Open the Alibaba API console.
- Create an Alibaba Cloud account
Sign in or register through Alibaba Cloud ↗. A permitted RAM user can also create keys if the account administrator grants access.
- Activate Model Studio
Open Alibaba Cloud Model Studio, accept the service terms, and complete identity verification if the console requests it.
Prepare API usage
Check billing and select Singapore.
- Review Model Studio billing
Model API calls use pay-as-you-go billing by default. Check the account’s payment and overdue-balance status before running paid models.
- Select Singapore
In Model Studio, choose Singapore in the region selector. Lakeview Lister’s Qwen connection uses the Singapore endpoint.
Alibaba Cloud keeps API keys and endpoints separate by region. A Beijing, Virginia, or other-region key will not work with Lakeview Lister’s Singapore connection. Use a standard Model Studio pay-as-you-go key rather than a Coding Plan or Token Plan key.
Generate the credential
Create and copy the API key.
- Open Model Studio API Key
Use the official API-key instructions ↗ to open the Model Studio API Key page.
- Choose Singapore and create the key
Check that Singapore is selected in the upper-right region selector, then select Create API Key.
- Copy the secret immediately
Alibaba Cloud shows the complete key when it is created; after you close the dialog, the plaintext key cannot be viewed again.
If it is exposed, revoke it in the provider console and create a replacement. Do not send it to support.
Return to Lakeview Lister
Add and test the key.
- Open Profile
In Lakeview Lister, open Tools → Profile → AI Providers.
- Add the provider
Select Add provider, choose Alibaba, and expand its card under Your providers.
- Enter Alibaba Cloud API Key (Singapore)
Paste the complete API key into this field without spaces or quotation marks.
- Test and save
Select Test Key, then Save Profile. Choose the provider as your default if you want future runs to start with it.
If a request fails
Check the account and key.
The key is rejected or access is denied.
Check that the key was created in the Singapore region and that its workspace has access to the selected Qwen model.
You used a plan-specific key.
Create a standard Model Studio pay-as-you-go API key. Coding Plan and Token Plan keys are separate.
The account cannot call models.
Confirm Model Studio activation, identity verification if requested, workspace permission, and billing status.
