A reusable policy set
Lakeview Lister can load these policies from eBay and attach them to new drafts.
Recommended, not required
Keep repeatable decisions out of each draft.
Business policies store the buyer-facing terms you use repeatedly. This makes publishing through Lakeview Lister faster and helps keep shipping, payment, and return settings consistent across listings.
- Select a saved policy instead of re-entering the same terms.
- Use different shipping policies for the fulfillment patterns you actually offer.
- Update a shared policy when the same change should apply to compatible listings using it.
You need at least one shipping, one payment, and one return policy. Add more only when a real difference—such as free shipping versus buyer-paid shipping—makes another policy useful.
Open eBay
Go to Manage Business Policies.
- Sign in to the eBay seller account connected to Lakeview Lister.
Policies belong to the seller account and marketplace where they were created.
- Open eBay’s policy dashboard.
Go to Manage Business Policies .
- Opt in if eBay asks you to.
Use eBay’s Business Policies opt-in page , then return to the policy dashboard.
A policy created on ebay.com applies to that marketplace. If you later list on another eBay marketplace, create the appropriate policies there as well.
Build the minimum set
Create one policy of each type.
- Create a shipping policy.
Choose the handling time, delivery services, costs, locations served, and any exclusions that match how you will fulfill orders.
- Create a payment policy.
Review the payment terms eBay presents for your seller account and save the policy you will use for ordinary listings.
- Create a return policy.
Choose whether you accept returns, the return window, and who pays return shipping. Make sure the terms match what you are prepared to honor.
Review each policy carefully before using it. Lakeview Lister selects the saved eBay policy; it does not replace or reinterpret the terms inside that policy.
Make selection easy
Name policies by the choice they represent.
Clear names are easier to recognize in Lakeview Lister’s policy pickers. Include the meaningful difference instead of using names such as “Policy 1” or “Default 2.”
The examples show a naming pattern, not recommended shipping or return terms. Create only the policies that reflect how you actually sell.
Return to the app
Refresh your eBay account data.
- Open Lakeview Lister.
Under Tools, select eBay Account.
- Select Refresh from eBay.
Lakeview Lister will load the current policies associated with the connected seller account.
- Confirm all three policy sections contain your saved choices.
Expand Shipping Policies, Payment Policies, and Return Policies. If any section is empty, confirm that the policy exists on the same eBay account and marketplace, then refresh again.
- Choose defaults before a Draft Builder run.
Select the policies that should be applied to the batch. You can review or change the selections on an individual draft before publishing.
Lakeview Lister shows at least one shipping, payment, and return policy for the connected Production seller account.
Keep policies dependable
Change shared policies deliberately.
- Remember that editing a policy can update compatible active listings already using it.
- Reassign active listings before deleting a policy they use.
- Refresh eBay Account data in Lakeview Lister after creating, renaming, or replacing policies.
- Keep the list small enough that the correct choice remains obvious.
