What you will finish with
One Meta Model API key
Lakeview Lister uses this key to call Meta’s Muse Spark models.
Before you start
Use Meta’s Model API dashboard.
- A Meta developer account with access to Model API.
- A payment card and the legal name and address Meta requests for usage billing.
- Lakeview Lister installed so you can test the key.
Lakeview Lister connects to Meta’s hosted Model API for Muse Spark. Downloaded Llama model files do not provide this API key.
Create the developer account
Open Meta Model API.
- Go to Meta’s developer dashboard .
Sign in or create an account and complete any identity or team setup requested there.
- Open the Model API dashboard.
Check that you can see its API keys, Billing, and Usage areas.
Prepare for API requests
Add a payment method.
- Open Billing.
A team admin selects Add payment method, enters card details, and saves them.
- Enter business information.
Meta asks for the legal name and address used for tax documents. If you are not a registered business, Meta says to use your legal name and mailing address.
- Watch Usage and Billing.
Model API is billed for the tokens used by requests. Review current prices and usage in Meta’s dashboard.
Generate the credential
Create a key for Lakeview Lister.
- Open the API keys tab.
In the Model API dashboard, select Create API key.
- Name and create the key.
A name such as Lakeview Lister makes it easier to find later.
- Copy the complete key immediately.
Meta displays the secret only once. Keep it handy until you finish Test Key in Lakeview Lister.
Do not include it in a support message or screenshot. If exposed, delete it in Meta’s dashboard and create a replacement.
Return to the app
Add, test, and save the key.
- Open Tools > Profile > AI Providers.
Select Add provider, then choose Meta.
- Paste the secret into Meta API Key.
Enter the complete value without quotation marks or extra spaces.
- Select Test Key.
If the test succeeds, choose Meta under Default AI if you want it for new runs, then select Save Profile.
Test Key succeeds and your profile is saved.
Troubleshooting
Check the account, key, and billing.
Meta reports an invalid or unauthorized key.
Use a Model API key from dev.meta.ai, recopy it without extra spaces, and confirm it still exists in the API keys tab.
Meta reports a payment error.
Check that Billing has a valid payment method and saved business information for the team that owns the key.
Meta reports a model access or rate limit error.
Check the team’s model access and Limits page in the Model API dashboard. Meta applies limits by team.
The key may have been exposed.
Delete it in Meta’s dashboard, create a new one, and replace it in Lakeview Lister.
