What you will finish with
One MiMo Open Platform API key
It begins with sk- and uses the pay-as-you-go API balance.
Before you start
Use the regular MiMo API.
- A personal Xiaomi account for MiMo Open Platform. Xiaomi’s current quick start says personal account login is supported.
- A usable Open Platform balance or available free credit; top up if needed.
- Lakeview Lister installed so you can test the key.
Lakeview Lister uses MiMo’s pay-as-you-go API and its sk- key. Token Plan keys begin with tp- or ttp- and use a separate endpoint and quota. Xiaomi says these credentials are not interchangeable.
Create the developer account
Sign in to Xiaomi MiMo Open Platform.
- Open the MiMo API Console .
Sign in with your Xiaomi account or register one there.
- Find the Console’s API Keys page.
This is where Xiaomi says to apply for a pay-as-you-go API key.
Prepare for API requests
Check Account Balance.
- Open Account Balance in the console.
Check for usable free credit or an existing paid balance. If it is insufficient, follow the displayed top-up options.
- Set a balance alert if helpful.
Xiaomi’s console can notify you when the balance drops below a threshold you choose.
Pay-as-you-go API calls draw from the Open Platform account balance. Token Plan payments do not add to that balance.
Generate the credential
Create an sk- API key.
- In the console, open API Keys.
Select the option to create a regular Open Platform API key.
- Copy the complete key.
It should begin with
sk-. Keep the secret handy until Lakeview Lister has tested it.
Do not include it in a support message or screenshot. If it is lost or exposed, replace it in the MiMo console and update the app.
Return to the app
Add, test, and save the key.
- Open Tools > Profile > AI Providers.
Select Add provider, then choose Xiaomi.
- Paste the secret into MiMo API Key.
Enter the complete
sk-key without quotation marks or extra spaces. - Select Test Key.
If it succeeds, choose Xiaomi under Default AI if you want it for new runs, then select Save Profile.
sk- keyTest Key succeeds and your profile is saved.
Troubleshooting
Check the key type and balance.
MiMo rejects the key.
Confirm you created a pay-as-you-go sk- key on the Console’s API Keys page. A Token Plan tp- or ttp- key uses another service.
The account has a Token Plan but calls fail.
Check the Open Platform Account Balance. Token Plan quota does not pay for regular API calls.
The account says the balance is too low.
Review the Account Balance page and top up if needed. The key and balance need to belong to the same Xiaomi account.
The key may have been exposed.
Replace it in the MiMo console, then update and retest it in Lakeview Lister.
