What you will finish with
One MiniMax Open Platform API key
It draws from your pay-as-you-go balance when Lakeview Lister calls a MiniMax model.
Before you start
Use the regular API account.
- A MiniMax Open Platform account, with any account verification MiniMax requires.
- A way to fund the API account balance if no usable balance is available.
- Lakeview Lister installed so you can test the key.
Lakeview Lister uses the pay-as-you-go API Key from Account > API Keys. A Token Plan Subscription Key is issued under Billing > Token Plan and uses separate resources. MiniMax says these keys are not interchangeable.
Create the developer account
Open MiniMax API Platform.
- Open the MiniMax API Platform .
Register or sign in to your developer account.
- Open your account console.
Use the Account menu to find API Keys and Billing.
Prepare for API requests
Check Billing > Balance.
- Open Billing > Balance .
Check the account balance and top up if needed. MiniMax lists online payment and bank transfer as funding options, subject to your account.
- Consider a balance alert.
MiniMax lets you choose a threshold so it can email you before the balance runs out.
MiniMax deducts regular API key usage from the account balance or an applicable API resource package. A Token Plan subscription is a separate purchase.
Generate the credential
Create a pay-as-you-go secret key.
- Open Account > API Keys .
Choose Create new secret key, as described in MiniMax’s setup guide.
- Name and copy the key.
A name such as Lakeview Lister helps you recognize it later. Copy the complete secret to the app.
Do not include it in a support message or screenshot. MiniMax may disable a key that leaks publicly; revoke and replace an exposed key.
Return to the app
Add, test, and save the key.
- Open Tools > Profile > AI Providers.
Select Add provider, then choose MiniMax.
- Paste the secret into MiniMax API Key.
Enter the complete pay-as-you-go key without quotation marks or extra spaces.
- Select Test Key.
If it succeeds, choose MiniMax under Default AI if you want it for new runs, then select Save Profile.
Test Key succeeds and your profile is saved.
Troubleshooting
Check the key type and balance.
MiniMax rejects the key.
Confirm it came from Account > API Keys, not Billing > Token Plan. Recopy it without spaces.
Requests fail even though a plan is paid.
Check the regular API balance or applicable resource package. A Token Plan subscription does not fund pay-as-you-go calls.
Requests stop after working earlier.
Review Billing > Balance for a depleted balance and check account notices or rate limits.
The key may have been exposed.
Revoke it in MiniMax Account > API Keys, create a new one, and update the app.
